Conflict Resolution

My conflict resolution work involves socially and economically diverse participants, and ranges from helping divorcing individuals navigate settlement forms to shuttling between individuals with difficult relationships. I have mediated small claims cases, divorce cases, settlement modifications cases, and participated with small groups and large groups in problem solving.
My studies at the University of Denver in Communication Studies gives me unique knowledge of the different ways conflicts are created, sustained, and resolved. My interests include the perpetuation of conflict in everyday life, international conflict resolution, human rights, and critical studies, with an emphasis on critical cultural studies on education, popular culture, and social conflicts. My current academic projects include two autoethnographies on hegemony and higher education, and a critical study of hegemonic masculinity and wars. In addition, I am interested in the works of Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, and using their theories to find new ways of exploring personal, human, and international conflicts.
When not finding solutions to conflicts or writing academic papers, I try to be a dedicated doggy-dad. I organize volleyball and inline hockey games in the city of Boulder, Colorado, and play as much sports as I can. While primarily a volleyball and inline hockey player, I also rock climb at the Spot Climbing Gym and work out with weights whenever the weather outside is wet and cold. I like helping my friends out, watching the natural wonders surrounding me, eating junk food and drinking sodas, and watching sci-fi and comic movies.
